Product Description
Colwood Replaceable Primary Short 45° Woodburning Tip
The Colwood Replaceable Primary Short 45° Woodburning Tip is one of the smallest of the point tips used for burning in tight and hard-to-reach areas with a 45° bend. These Colwood Replaceable tips can also be used to outline or use the tip to create detail such as under feathers. Most Tips when held at a 45° angle to the wood and rotated between the thumb and fingers allow you to use the tip as a calligraphy tip, creating thick lines or graceful curved lines. With the 45° tip it is already bent making it easier to create those special effects without holding your hand in an awkward position. The fine narrow tip reaches a higher heat than the wide tips. When the fine tip burns it's a darker impression, and the wide tips will burn a lighter impression.
It is very Important that you specify which tip you need: The left tip is for right-handed wood burning and the right tip is for left-handed wood burning.

You will need a Replaceable Tip Handle, This handle plugs into your Colwood woodburning unit. A replaceable woodburning tip can then be placed in the handle, heated and you are ready to do some woodburning.
The handle can be used with a variety of tips that allow you to create different effects, while the Colwood Woodburner provides consistent heat for an even burn. Together, these two tools will help you create beautiful wood-burned projects.
There are a few ways to keep your tip clean, use a leather honing strop, with aluminum oxide. Simply place a small amount of oxide on the strop and pull the woodburning tip across the strop surface or use a sanding stick with 320 grit to clear the tip of carbon while restoring them to a bright finish that creates clean strokes.
