Product Description
Unlike most strops , the John Dunkle strop has a curved or round edge for working the inside of a gouge or knife and an angled edge for stropping V-tools and smaller gouge tools. The strop is made of wood covered by thin pig-skin, so you won't round your tools.
With the Blue Velvet stropping powder, you can sprinkle some on the strop and work it in with the back of your knife or gouge. When used responsibly, the strop, along with the Blue Velvet, will last for many years.
The way John explains the sharpening process is to lay the blade dead flat to duplicate the shape. When stropping put your finger on the blade where the handle meets the wood, strop a few times, and move your finger down the blade and repeat, be sure not to apply to much pressure at the tip.

Life Expectency
Although I like the Strop they have a tendency to wear out.
