Kelly's Sherwood Green Shoe Cream
The Kelly's Sherwood Green Shoe Cream can be used for bark carving to add detail and definition. Normally carvers use the Neutral cream for the first layer. Work the cream thoroughly into the surface with small or medium brush avoiding any area of cream buildup. Once it drys simply buff it out with a soft bristle brush or a toothbrush, for hard to reach areas you can also use a nylon.
Using Kelly's Sherwood Green Shoe Cream sparingly, apply the second coat to areas you want a little darker with a soft toothbrush, for depth. You want to use a small brush and only work on a small section at a time. Do not let Green Cream sit to long or you will have a hard time getting it off. Avoid putting the cream on the outside layer of the bark to keep the natural look. Make sure it is worked in and don't let it cake up because it can crack . Let it dry and repeat with any of the Kelly's shoe cream colors for one more coat adding more definition to your carving.
The cream is water soluble, so you can use a warm damp rag to rub off any unwanted cream. If you do this, it will also remove the base polish. When the bark dries you can reapply. For the last layer you can use the neutral let it dry then buff out with horsehair brush mounted in a Power Carver and buff until there is a soft sheen.
The Kelly's Sherwood Green Shoe Cream will release the details in your bark carving.
