Typhoon Carbide Bur 5° 13/16" Taper
Available in Coarse only
Move up to a Typhoon Carbide Bur that cuts faster and lasts longer. The Typhoon Carbide Bur 5° 13/16" Taper has a unique structure with hundreds of extremely sharp tungsten carbide teeth. The typhoon carbide carving burs are very aggressive and stay sharp a lot longer than regular burs. Use the coarse grit for shaping and roughing out work. You can use the the typhoon carbide carving burs on different types of wood including Basswood, and Tupelo. Grits are identified by color. Coarse is red which aggressively removes material and leaves deeper grooves. The pattern of regular spaced teeth aligned in rows make the carving burs less prone to load yet easier to clean. The manufacturer recommends using a brass brush to rapidly remove any build up if needed. Don't use a file card or steel brush to clean Typhoon Carbide Bur. You can use the carving burs with Foredom, Dremel, and other power rotary tools.
